Growing from strength to strength, and now into its second year of operations, VNIX continues in its relentless quest to scale new heights and break new grounds in the arena of 3D BIM modeling, architectural, structural designs, detailing and rendering.
Sometimes a feedback or comment from a client would give the best rewards; in this respect all of us at VNIX derive immense satisfaction in receiving the following feedback in August from one of our clients in Finland:

But we are not resting on our laurels yet; we continue to find new ways and means to exceed our clients’ expectations. In this 2nd issue of our quarterly newsletter, we feature 6 selected projects in architecture and 4 structural engineering projects. On 1st Oct we shifted to a new and bigger office, which can accommodate up to 100 staff. In Sep, we also started work with new workstations running the Tekla suite of structural 3D BIM software. With the addition of the powerful Tekla suite to our existing Strucad and StaadPro software in use, we now have the 3 of the most powerful state-of-the-art 3D BIM structural platforms under our roof. We also acquired five 3D Studio Max and 50 ArchiCad software, making us now the largest single user of ArchiCad in South East Asia.

Our staff feature in this bulletin is Arvin Tolentino. Arvin is currently employed as a lead architectural designer in VNIX. Married with 2 kids, Arvin has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. He came to Singapore in 2002 and has been working in the architectural and construction industry for more than 14 years.
Arvin is a multi-talented person. His hobbies include playing basketball and videogames. Arvin has worked on a number of prominent construction projects; including the Rockwell Power Plant and the Nestle Manufacturing Facilities. While Arvin’s wife is a structural engineer, Arvin is himself equally capable in both the fields of architectural and structural engineering. Arvin is well versed in using a wide range of application software including ArchiCad, StruCad, AutoCad and MicroStation. Arvin is a valuable asset to VNIX; to date, he has completed numerous projects in both architectural and structural functions for VNIX. Arvin is also a jovial and entertaining guy. He would cheer up any party immediately with his jokes and humor.
We hope to be able to recruit more staff with Arvin’s work attitudes and capabilities.

Warehouse at Mandurah, WA.
The warehouse at Mandurah, Western Australia, consists of structural precast concrete wall panels supporting a fabricated steel roof. VNIX was engaged by the steelwork fabricator and worked closely with the fabricator together with the precast concrete contractor from the start of the project. Highlights of the project include the use of 3D BIM software for the entire steel roof, including all cast-in steel items in the precast concrete wall panels. Precise coordination with the concrete pre-caster was carefully managed by VNIX in ensuring the accuracy of all cast-in steel items. The end result was a precise and meticulously fabricated steel roof structure, completed accurately and on-time.
Advanced Structural Engineering for offshore applications: Finite Element Analysis
VNIX was engaged by the specialist contractor to design and carry out structural finite element analysis on various steel structures for offshore applications. The rigorous requirements of the offshore industry include impact, tilting and durability analysis. VNIX took on this tough challenge to complete all the design and analysis works. The entire design & analysis report was approved on the first submission by a 3rd party offshore inspection firm. VNIX is confident with this highly successful pilot project; we will be doing much more work for the offshore industry in the near future.
Swan Tafe Midlands Campus, WA.
The Swan Tafe Midlands Campus consists of more than 6 individual steel buildings. The project schedule was extremely fast-track and VNIX worked closely with the steelwork fabricator from the start to complete all the steelwork construction details to meet the tight construction datelines. Highlights of the project include the simultaneous detailing works being carried out on the various individual buildings to match the progressive construction schedule. Utilizing the use of the latest state-of-the-art 3D BIM software, VNIX is able to meet the almost impossibly tight datelines. The result is another satisfied client, whom will surely be working with VNIX again on all their forth-coming projects.
Elevation Plaza, WA.
Another feather in the cap on our diversified capabilities, we are currently completing the detailing works for the Elevation Plaza, a multi-storey residential housing project, with precast concrete wall panels. VNIX worked hand-in-hand together with the general contractor and precast concrete specialist. A total of more than 600 precast concrete wall panels were meticulously detailed and are currently being manufactured and installed.

WA Housing
VNIX is working closely with WA Housing which is prominent brand in quality home building and design in Perth. We have completed numerous full documentation and visual presentations. We are successfully building upon our track record of providing our drafting and rendering services, with emphasis on good quality drafting and delivering distinctive and photo realistic perspective presentations.
Oil Tank Farms
VNIX show cases yet another rendering project in the completion of this 3D Model of an Oil Tanking project. Our client Audex, is a leader in providing integrated solutions in the field of engineering and construction services to the oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, offshore and power plants. Actual landscape is captured by using the powerful features of terrain mapping combined with an array of advanced graphic software.

The past three months saw VNIX grow by leaps and bounds, as we have invested on upgrading our software and hardware capabilities. 2 sets of Tekla Suite of software was recently purchased, along with 3 additional sets of 3D Studio Max, 4 sets of Adobe Photoshop, and 50 ArchiCad licences to our existing 23 licences, making VNIX the largest single user of ArchiCad in South East Asia.
Our robustly growing arsenal of software now includes ArchiCad, StruCad, AutoCAD®, AutoCAD® Revit® Architecture Suite, AutoCAD® Revit® MEP Suite, Artlantis Studio, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Premiere Elements, StaadPro, Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Autodesk® 3D Studio VIZ and Tekla Structure.
These developments are testament to VNIX’s commitment to provide our clients with the highest standard possible. Further upgrade plans are on the pipeline, to ensure that VNIX is always on its toes, thereby ensuring that we’re only providing quality service to our clients. |
